The Hybrid X is Richie Lovett's third pass at the Hybrid, and this one is all about paddle power. He pushed the wide point and the thickness forward so the foam sits under your chest and rails where it helps you get in early, then kept the tail tuned like a performance shortboard so it still turns hard once you are up and going. A subtle single concave up front runs into single-plus-double through the back for drive and release. It is a dependable everyday board for small-to-medium surf, and at 5'10" it travels easily.
